Purchasing a Buy to Let Property Through a Limited

Purchasing a Buy to Let Property Through a Limited Company – Is It Worth It?

Following the budget in 2016, it was announced that Buy to Let Landlords would have to pay tax on turnover rather than the difference between rental income and mortgage interest. This additional tax put pressure on returns with some landlords even deciding it was the final straw and exiting the sector.

Others however, appear to have found a loophole.

Since the announcement, there has been an increase in landlords selling their homes to themselves as a limited company and with corporation tax on taxable profits payable at 20% it looks like a more tax efficient option.

Unsure if you should you be making this change?

With the industry rapidly changing for landlords, this can be a confusing time. Which is why I’ve teamed up with some sector experts to help you understand whether buying a Buy to Let property, through a limited company, is truly worth it.

On Wednesday 5th April, at Ashton Gate Stadium, we will be hosting a seminar and networking event for landlords to help explain what has happened and what you need to consider before you embark on this strategy.

Seminar Speakers:

Lee Sutton of Steve Mears Mortgages – will be speaking about what has happened and the impact it has had on underwriting.

Paul Jones of Insight Law – will be talking about the changes to stamp duty.

Nicola Morgan-Schulz from Jordans Accountants Ltd – will be speaking about the pros and cons of using limited companies for buy to let portfolios

And finally I will close the seminar with a talk on how to make the most of the rental market.

Want to attend?

The seminar is completely free, and will not only give you the opportunity to gain useful advice and insight from four industry experts, but also give you the opportunity to network with ourselves and the other attendees.

Doors will open at 6:00pm with the speaking set to begin at 6:30pm and finish at 7:30pm; finally you will be able to continue with some further networking until 8:00pm.

There is plenty of free parking at Ashton Gate Stadium as well.
