Me neither.  BS4 doesn’t have, for want of a better phrase, the brand identity of BS8 or BS9 or even BS5, but is that fair?

Take a closer look at BS4 and you will see that it has some of the best and most affordable housing stock in the city.  From the large Victorian villas in Knowle to the 1930’s semis of Sandy Park from the Victorian terraces of Totterdown to the riverside modern developments of St Anne’s Park the BS4 postcode offers a wide diversity for the potential buy to let investor, and so it is off to BS4 for this week’s BTL Deal of the Week.

St Anne’s Park is a 1980’s property development that has slipped under the radar.  Situated just off the Feeder Road it is a bit "out of sight, out of mind", but for people looking for value in either buying or renting property in Bristol it should be on their watch list.  Firstly it is close to the city, and has decent transport links, it is also a flat journey to the centre so can be easily cycled.  Secondly, properties are that much cheaper.  You can still get a two double bed apartment for around £700 per month whereas similar properties in Bedminster are going to be around £800 a month.  Finally it is quiet, the development is not on a through-road so is not a cut through (or "rat run").

This particular apartment shown is in need of some cosmetic improvements (Lilac bedroom anyone?) but if you spent £1,500 on top of the £132,950 asking price you would have a top quality 2 bed maisonette that would achieve £700 per month rental income easily and maybe a little bit more, meaning that your potential gross return could be as high as 6.25% per annum.
